Founded in September 2025 by mother-and-son team Shon Cook and Samuel Stevens, Legal Grounds blends a shared passion for community and their love of great coffee. Both west Michigan natives, Shon and Sam have always been passionate about coffee and creating spaces where people feel welcome.

Rooted in Norton Shores, we’re built on a simple mission: to serve great coffee while creating meaningful connections. At Legal Grounds, we believe in supporting local. From partnering with nearby businesses and featuring local artists to hosting community events, we’re proud to be a place where conversation, collaboration, and community come together.

Our vision when we first opened was to grow into a gathering space. We’re proud to say that we’ve become a coffee shop where people not only come for their daily brew, but also to connect, unwind, and create lasting memories.

From morning meetings slouched over a warm mug to trivia and open mic nights, Legal Grounds is your place to gather, grow, and grounds yourself.
